Although anyone can be vulnerable to attack, for those with physical limitations or disabilities, risk levels can be elevated. This course will help you gain confidence and strategies to defend yourself despite physical impairments. You can begin to feel a lot more secure as you move around.
When we feel sick. we have a plan for what to do, and we also adopt a more healthy lifestyle such as avoiding unhealthy food, taking more time to rest to help relieve stress and in some cases engaging in conditioning exercises to help us stay safe and fit. But in the event of a violent confrontation, we do not have a plan or know what to do. If we do find ourselves in such situations it becomes too late to develop a plan.
This course has been designed with the intent to open your eyes to take action, it serves as a guide to teach safe protection people with disabilities to defend themselves when faced with violent situations.
You will get to understand that speed and accuracy are very necessary to catch an attacker off guard. With proper plan and execution, you can quickly evacuate a place or situation before things get out of hand. You’ll be equipped to do your best to prevent violence attacks to yourself or those around you.
Some key areas that when struck easily destabilize an attacker and give you any time to seek cover or find a place of safety are also emphasized.
Each lesson examines the need for the course and also mentions defence strategies that are simple, direct and that require little or no equipment, and also shows how these can be done in reality-based scenarios.
